<h2 class=”wsite-content-title”>What is Crystal Gridding?</h2>

Crystals can be used to change and enhance the vibrations of outdoor areas, such as gardens, sacred groves, leylines. They are equally good at enhancing indoor vibrations in a home, temple, meditation room etc. Crystal gridding is done by creating an energetic force field through a network or grid of crystals placed at strategic locations within the area to be enhanced. For example, you can set up a crystal grid in your meditation room to enhance spiritual vibrations in the room and to go higher in your meditation. Crystals have the natural capacity to amplify energy, and thus are perfect to increase good energy and positive vibrations. But that is just one possible use of crystal grids.

Crystals also have the ability to transmute energy, in other words to change a negative energy field into a positive one. For this reason crystals have frequently been used to clear negative energy from leylines or earth power points. This is done by planting a positively programmed crystal in the earth over a leyline or earth power point. Ideally this should be a Herkimer diamond, as Herkimer diamonds are incorruptible: they will never be taken over by negative forces or polluted with negative energies. Strictly speaking just planting one crystal is not gridding, only when a network of crystals is set up – usually in a geometrical pattern, ideally utilising sacred geometry — then you have a crystal grid.

In a crystal grid all crystals are energetically connected with each other and communicate with each other. In this way they work together to amplify or transmute the energies of the gridded place. One of the most common crystal grid patterns is the square or rectangle. Put one crystal into each corner of your room or house, and voila, you have a crystal grid! This can be made more effective by having a fifth central crystal, which acts as the co-ordinator and harmoniser of all the combined crystal energies and vibrations. It harmonises the other four crystals, which are the cornerstones of the crystal grid. In such a grid the energies flow as shown in the picture above: in a circular way among the outer crystals and from each corner stone to the centre piece and vice versa. This is a much more powerful crystal grid than a simple square grid of four. It represents the powerful pyramid structure, with the central crystal representing the tip of the pyramid.

One of the best uses of a crystal grid is for protection from psychic attack and other negative energy based attacks, such as black radionics, electronic mind control etc. A good crystal grid that has been powerfully programmed can contribute a lot to keeping the home environment peaceful and safe and the occupants in good spirits. This applies to humans as well as to our animal friends and companions who frequently suffer from psychic attacks as well. In fact, in many cases it is the pet that takes the blows first before the rest of the family gets affected. A crystal grid is perfect energy tool to keep yourself and your loved ones safe and well and free from psychic interference.

Crystal grids generate positive energy and thus increase well-being making it easier to remain in a positive emotional state in spite of the challenges and difficulties of modern life. Crystal grids can also help to diminuish the harmful effects and jarring vibrations of electro-smog, an ever growing menace of modern life. Of course a crystal grid cannot solve all your problems, nor can you after setting one up rely on never having any psychic attack in your life again. What it does is set up a barrier against negativity, and depending on what is stronger, your defence or the attack, the negativity will get blocked off or if any does come through the crystal grid may at least soften the blow. In any case, ideally your psychic defence should be multi-layered and encompass both your home and your person.

<h2 class=”wsite-content-title”>Psychic Attack and Persistent Bad Luck</h2>

Any healer, psychic or truly spiritual person will sooner or later encounter negativity and psychic attack. I wish it wasn’t so, but this is the way things work. When your spiritual light begins to shine brighter, forces of darkness become attracted to you and will try everything to bring you down, because they are naturally averse to the light and goodness. Being good makes you the enemy of evil. Opposites attract. This opposition can however serve to strengthen your spiritual muscles. Many people only begin serious spiritual practices when they have to, forced by either ill health or a never-ending stream of bad luck, which is a sure sign that you are being affected by curses and sorcery aka black magick.

I too have been under severe psychic attack and know how difficult and painful this can get. To give you an idea of the extent of the problem: I used to know a man who said of himself that he was the unluckiest person on earth. After knowing me for a while and witnessing the kind of things that happened to me he corrected himself and said to me: “I changed my mind. I believe you are the unluckiest person on earth.” ‘Great!’ I thought sarcastically. Nothing, absolutely nothing I did ever worked out at that time. For instance, when I went to a cash point to withdraw money, the money wouldn’t come out but I was charged on my account for it. My house got burgled twice. Two of my cats died in strange ways. My health went downhill rapidly and I had absolutely no energy left, when all my life I had been a powerhouse of energy. My car stopped on every street corner when I had to go to an important event, but worked fine when I used it for mundane errands such as shopping. The garage never found anything wrong with it. I had unbelievable pain in almost every part of my body, and I could go on about it. To sum it up, my life was like the script of a bad movie, and there seemed to be no end in sight. At one point I was so drained that I resigned myself to face death, as I felt I had only a few more weeks left the way my energy and life force was seeping out of me. I finally managed to get rid of the vampiric force that was draining me, but the bad luck persisted.

<h2 class=”wsite-content-title”>Crystal Grid Experiences</h2>

It was at this point that I set up my first crystal grid for protection. Of course that was not my only defence against negativity. My situation was desperate and so I employed a whole arsenal of psychic weapons, the crystal grid was just one of them. Things got a lot quieter after the crystal grid was up, but as I was employing other forms of psychic warding as well, I couldn’t be sure what was causing this improvement. There was still negativity and bad luck but it wasn’t at such a crazy level anymore. I tried to get on with my life and my spiritual practices and forgot all about the crystal grid. About a year later when I was cleaning up my house and my spiritual items, I decided those crystals were a bit dusty and needed a nice bath. I took the grid down and placed all the crystals in a bath of sea salt and water. After that I placed them on a window sill to bask in the sun and be recharged. I forgot about them for two days.

Meanwhile, all hell broke loose. When I got up on the second morning I found somebody had thrown a rotten egg against my window pane! I had to clean it up which took near an hour as the stuff was so sticky and it stank immensely. I have no quarrel with anybody so I shrugged it off as naughty kids, but it gave me a bad feeling. Later that day, I was upstairs meditating when I heard heavy footsteps coming up the stairs. This was impossible as I was alone in the house. Finally I went to check. Nobody was in the house, but to my shock, the back door was unlocked! This had never happened before, as I am very careful with the doors. I checked all the rooms, nobody in the house, checked the front door, which was locked, went back to meditation. Footsteps again, I couldn’t believe it. Alarmed I jumped up to check. This time the front door was open! And there were more crazy things going on. I felt like I was in a bad movie, like Poltergeist or similar. This was the result of taking my protection grid down for two days.

Apparently things had still been thrown at me on a daily basis, but the crystal grid had kept most of them at bay. The moment I took the grid down, the negativity that had been waiting beyond the barrier of the grid began to seep through. I had to do some serious banishing and exorcisms. And of course, as soon as I realised that my defences were down because of the missing crystal grid I immediately put all crystals back in place. Within a day or two things returned to normal. Note: at that time my grid wasn’t even that powerful yet, because the crystals I used had only been programmed but not yet enchanted, which makes a big difference. I have added extra spells to them since. To do this I had to take the grid down again of course, and again things started going wrong. All my crystals are now back in place and they will stay there for a good while. Meanwhile I have also prepared a second set of crystals, which can stand in for the other crystals if I want to cleanse them or recharge them in sun or moonlight.

The second example is from a friend of mine, an intelligent down-to-earth lady. One day she told me casually that something odd was happening to her every morning: She would get up and then walk around her house holding her head and saying to herself “oh my, what I am going to do? Oh it’s so dreadful!” whilst beset by a feeling of doom. The weird thing was, as she said, she had no particular problem, worry or dilemma in her life. This always happened in the morning, and always around the same time. I suspected electromagnetic mind-control, and as I had a set of small crystals that were looking for a new home, I programmed them for her. My friend was sceptical, saying she didn’t believe in this kind of “New Age stuff”. “Crystals aren’t New Age”, I told her, “they have been used for thousands of years and they really work.” She was still sceptical but decided to set them up. I didn’t tell her that the crystals were for her morning panic attacks, but just said they were “for protection”. Two weeks later I casually inquired whether she had any more of these weird feelings of panic in the morning. My friend replied, “now that you mention it, actually no, it hasn’t happened again.” This was months later and I kept asking her about any recurrence. So far the phenomenon has not recurred.

Now you may say that was probably pure coincidence. Maybe — but I personally don’t think so. I have experienced on several occasions what happens when you let your protection down or when it gets interfered with. At any rate, it can’t do any harm to set up a crystal grid to protect your home or your healing room or meditation space. I would highly recommend it to any energy worker, healer, psychic, shaman and meditator. Because sooner or later when you are working with higher energies you will be challenged, and the more good you do, the harder the forces of negativity will try to thwart you and pull you down. No need for fear, but it is best to be prepared and have good defences. This can save you much pain and grief. I wish I had known about it earlier!

<h2 class=”wsite-content-title”>How to Choose the Right Crystals</h2>

The crystals most suitable for making a crystal grid are those of the quartz family – for the simple reason that quartz crystals are the most powerful amplifiers of energy. The quartz family includes clear quartz, smokey quartz, rutilated quartz, tourmalinated quartz, citrine, amethyst and rose quartz. Most of the time clear quartz is the crystal of choice, because its energy frequency is neutral and it can therefore be used for virtually any purpose you wish to program it for.

Clear quartz is versatile and powerful in transmitting and transmuting energy, and it is also a good healer crystal. Another reason to go for clear quartz is a practical one: it is not as costly as the other members of the quartz family that tend to be pricey.

Smokey quartz is wonderful to transmute negative energies, but because of the hard work it does it will also need more cleansing. It has a very grounding energy, and is excellent if you want to ground negativity into the earth or if you are dealing with earth based psychic attacks. If you manage to get a smokey quartz crystal point with citrine inclusions then you do not have to cleanse it as citrine is self-cleansing and will keep smokey quartz free from negativity.

Rutilated quartz, sometimes also called angel hair quartz has all the beneficial effects of quartz amplified by the rutile inclusions which make it a very high energy crystal and great conductor. It is however a high cost crystal and it is not easy to get a good sized specimen at an affordable price, let alone five of them for a crystal grid!

Tourmalinated quartz combines the properties of quartz with those of tourmaline. Usually the inclusions are of black tourmaline which is a great crystal for warding against negativity and psychic attack. Tourmaline is also wonderful to protect against electromagnetic attacks and electro-smog. When you hold a piece of pure tourmaline in your hand you can actually feel the piezo-electric effect, a kind of buzzing or mild stinging. I personally like this stone very much but there are drawbacks. Besides the price factor, tourmalinated quartz is often more cloudy or even opaque. Ideally, for a crystal grid you should get crystals of great clarity, because a crystal that is very clear has evolved very far and may be more capable of clearing negativity than a cloudier crystal. The general rule is: the clearer the crystal the higher the vibration. Personally, I do love crystals with inclusions and some inclusions in quartz are great, even for a crystal grid, but best avoid getting totally opaque crystals! Crystals that start opaque at the base and get clearer towards the point are a different matter though. They teach us to clear ourselves from negativity and become clearer and filled with more light energy. Those too can be very beneficial for a crystal grid.

Citrine resonates with the solar plexus, our power centre and the seat of the “sun” in Yoga tradition. It has a more fiery energy and like the rays of the sun that banish all darkness it helps overcome dark emotional states and keeps us positive. Combined with its self-cleansing power it makes a great crystal for keeping vibrations high. It may not be the best choice for a crystal grid in your bedroom though, as its solar power may make sleeping more difficult. You want to have more lunar gemstones and crystals in your bedroom! Citrine is also costly and, worst of all, not everything sold as citrine is actually citrine. Much of what is sold as citrine has been irradiated to turn it dark, and some of it is even amethyst turned yellowish by irradiation. Needless to say, crystals don’t enjoy being blasted with radiation, and a crystal thus treated will need healing to say the very least. If what you bought as citrine is actually irradiated amethyst it won’t have any of the beneficial properties of citrine, such as self-cleansing, and may also have lost some of amethyst’s positive spiritual properties due to the harsh treatment the crystal was subjected to.

Amethyst is quite a protective member of the quartz family. It helps with dreaming and spiritual practices such as meditation. Since ancient times amethyst has been believed to ward against evil and bad luck and alleviate drunkenness or overcome addiction. The power of an amethyst grid would very much depend on the quality of the amethyst (how dark, how clear) and the individual points used (whether they be naturally shaped points or artificially cut to a point shape, for instance). A pure amethyst crystal grid with good sized points may be beyond many people’s budget. The vibration is however very nice and would be especially good for psychics and mediums, and anybody working with dreams or meditating on a regular basis. This is the crystal grid par excellence for a meditation room. But you can always set up a clear quartz grid and then add an amethyst cluster to your room to bring in the energies of amethyst, if you wish to do so, no need to buy five amethyst points just because you wish to practice meditation in a protected area.

Rose quartz is a gentle crystal with a soft peaceful energy. It works on the heart chakra and brings the energy of self love. Unfortunately it is the weakest member of the quartz family and won’t be able to withstand attacks of strong negativity. It also needs frequent cleansing, making it unsuitable for a protective crystal grid, though you may always set up additional rose quartz crystals around your room if you want to bring this energy in. Don’t forget to cleanse your rose quartz regularly or it may accumulate a lot of negativity and heavy energies. Besides, it might be quite difficult to find suitable points of reasonable size which have naturally grown into a six-sided termination. For the above reasons I do not recommend setting up a pure rose quartz grid for protection.

As to the other attributes to look for in crystals for a protective crystal grid:
Firstly, try to get crystals with natural terminations. If you think of setting up an amethyst grid, for instance, you may get crystals cut into a six-sided “crystal” shape, but really what you have may be a chunk of amethyst that was artificially shaped into a point. And worse, often during the crystal carving large chunks of quartz are cut into all kind of shapes and NOT along the natural axis of the crystal where the energy flows. I have seen quite a lot of artificially cut quartz wands that felt really dreadful because they had been unlovingly cut by machines without any understanding of the energies of the crystal. These crystals do not emit a proper energy flow out through the tip. Avoid these types of crystals in general and do not use them for a crystal grid.

Secondly, size isn’t everything. You want to consider the clarity of the crystal, whether it is a natural point (that includes crystal points that were polished without changing the original shape of the termination), and the overall energy of the crystals you are utilising. I have had great success with small crystals even. The crystal grid I set up for my friend (see story above) which ended her strange morning episodes, consisted of very small crystals barely one inch tall and some of those had even been damaged by the previous owner, though I did a lot of healing and clearing on them to restore them on an energetic level.

Generally quartz points of two or three inches should be powerful enough for general purposes. If you can afford to get very large crystals, by all means do so. But it really isn’t essential at all. Our general drawback is to see only the physical form of things, instead of the spiritual energy, the reality behind matter. It is strange how even the most spiritual of people fall into this trap and think bigger is better, or more expensive means better quality etc. If you find a small quartz crystal point that really resonates with you, it may protect you better than another much larger crystal point which was not meant to work with you. Always feel the energies and become sensitive to the subtle vibrations of crystals. You will be able to feel when a crystal was badly cut or damaged in other ways, such as through irradiation.
