If you look for definitions, you will realise that a great many people think that Selfism is a negative, egotistical thing, something few people would claim to be, but I think that these people lack understanding of what Selfism is all about, and most importantly, they lack an understanding of the true meaning of love, and it is this that causes them to misunderstand exactly what selfism is all about.

For me, a Selfist is a person that seeks to love the totality of self through gaining a thorough and informed knowledge of self through careful introspection and attention to self.

Unfortunately, the majority of people misunderstand the true meaning of love, and when this is combined with the concept of loving self then they completely get the wrong end of the stick. In fact, the fact that they do says something regarding their own “loving” nature, since to misunderstand the term, means one has not known it is ones life, and is applying ones own concepts on another.

Selfism is a selfish thing, and again, current society regards selfishness as a wholly negative thing. I would have to disagree. Anyone who has selfishly and selflessly attended to self to the extent that they thoroughly know and love self is a highly positive person for society to have.
