The Truth of Self – a Selfists Bible
There is only one truth, this is your truth, there is only one place to find that truth, this is within.
The external world is a reflection of the internal world, it is there to remind us to look within. Becoming obsessed with the external world, the good and or the bad, avoids looking within.
There is only one way to succeed, unconditional love, recognise all is self, the light and the dark, and love it the best you can.
Do not expect your truth to be the same as others, we are unique and we must find our own way, by looking within, just listen with your mind to the feelings in your heart, they come gently at first, but just keep listening.
How do I find my truth?
Remember, everything else I or anyone else may tell you, is just my truth, not yours, there is no external understanding that shares total commonality, though there are many others who will try to tell you different. When you get this from someone try to remember, it’s not their fault, they are the victim of ego trying to prop ups it’s learnt beliefs by getting you to join their club. It never works, no two are the same, so anything else I may say will be just what I know works for self or others I have met.
Intuition is the name of the game really, getting to know self through listening to self, which means you need to make room for self to “speak”.
So, the first lesson is mindfulness, listening to self, recognising that the thoughts you have in your head are not you, for a large part they come from ego, which is a self-learning friend able to suggest possible courses of action in circumstances you may not have encountered before based on information it picks up from the world around you, even TV.
When you start paying attention to your thoughts for the first time you quickly realise that ego’s classy learning system picks up stuff from all sorts of places, some of them are not desirable, they are not “true” to the “self” that you intuitively know yourself to be. Ego can also be the source of constant and often worrying thoughts, these will need to be released.
This leads to the second lesson – calming the mind
Ego picks up bad habits, ego needs guidance as to the types of thoughts it might suggest, and also when they should be suggested. So we watch our thoughts and when one comes up that is not true to self we stop the thought, and we either instruct ego to remove the thought altogether (I call this “no-think”) or we show guidance by creating the thought as it should be. This takes practice and one thing you should not expect is 100% success, ego is not the only source of thoughts and the purpose of quieting the mind is to make room for those other thoughts, such as intuitive thoughts.
And so we come to the third lesson, which is more like some suggestions. The idea is, once you have removed ego chatter and as much unnecessary and un-self like thoughts from your mind, you need to find ways of enhancing that intuitive flow and also see if you can connect to other forms of guidance. Unfortunately (but excitingly) we are all different, so none of these suggestions might work for you (and the same with everyone else’s, it’s the luck of the draw).
There are many forms of guidance, but the best stuff comes free, it is intuition and also knowing, it can also be the thoughts of guides (who can be light or dark), and there are many techniques that people use to tune into and enhance these.
Meditation is good for starters (free and major benefits for the majority of people, and all it is, is making yourself as relaxed and restful as you can, without falling asleep, and either listening alertly to the mind (with or without periodic questions), or allowing yourself to ponder imaginatively on a subject that interests you. No special position is required, whatever is best for you, try to remember your own perfect way of doing it (use intuition), there’s jokers out there that will have you doing all kinds of positions, these work for them, they may not work for you. You can do it to music or in silence.
Other stuff that you can play with includes Pendulums (very easy and useful tool if it works for you, a basic tool for tuning into guides and intuition), crystals can enhance communications etc, Tarot and other forms of divination also help you gain intuition, by feeling the meaning of the cards. In addition dreams can be a major form of learning, guides can appear in dreams and also lessons can be experienced.
One last lesson! Every interaction is a lesson, every time you interact with someone or some-thing, look for the lesson, this is doubly the case with guides and other thought connections. Some of the lessons can be blind alleys, and some just distractions, as you grow you will discern, you will choose your distractions sometimes and you will also choose your path.
