Shadow beings are a kind of elemental being that tends to watch us, frighten children etc. But yes, they can attack you if they think you are getting too spiritually connected. But they are not too difficult to sort out. At least, I found it pretty easy to turn them.
If you reject them, then they will do evil, if you do nothing, they will continue doing what they are doing, unless something further triggers them, such as further spiritual growth. What I mean by this, is that I had no idea they were there, until I got to a certain level of activation, then I saw a bunch of them looking at me, and they proceeded to attack me, and I was forced to be more and more inventive until I finally developed a defence to their ultimate “weapon”. The final option, is to accept them, to love them, to love them so much they decide to defect from their masters and work for you instead. They can be your eye’s, not those of others.
By doing this, you move that duality based eternal fight into a unity of togetherness, by shedding the light of understanding onto that darkness, then step by step you walk them into the light. It is the same for all dark entities. Accept what they say as potentially having some basis in truth you may not be aware of, seek to gain further understanding of what they are saying (As opposed to fear based impulsive rejection), and in so doing, you shed light on that darkness, and find aspects of them that you can accept. Keep playing that game, until they are no longer dark and adversarial, but instead they become helpers, friends and supporters. They may always have a bit of gray in them, but this turns into a generally nice bit of fun.
Part of the point to all this is that they come because they are attracted to your own dark, and this is their lesson, they come to help you find it. That grey that they become, this is you, this is the you that realises we each have darkness, that we reject and send into the shadows of our mind, where we send out negative energy into the universe and entities like this find that a magnet.

It seems that if you fail to love everything that crosses your path, you will stop growing and go into some kind of holding pattern, or even regress, if you go into spiritual bypass.
