So what starts ascension for the individual? Ascension starts for the individual, when they start looking within, and when they start finding aspects of self that were lost and now can be reintegrated. The individual who has found all their lost aspects, and has brought them into alignment with self, though love and commitment to self, is said to have attained “Christ Consciousness”. This is the start of ascension.
An important thing to understand, is that ascension is made easier, when your connection to the divine is clear, the biggest source of those obstacles are your learnt responses, many call a subset of these learnt responses “Ego”, however it is all learnt responses that need to be understood, and challenged, you need to listen to self and ask – Is this learnt response correct for me, or am I just copying others?”. Ideally you will move into living in the moment, and challenge each learnt response as it comes up, over time, if done correctly, you can make sure all your learnt behaviours and responses are true to self, this strengthens your connection to source.
Ascension is done in phases, first you integrate all aspects of self, this is the first stage. Then you integrate your higher self – a journey that will ultimately lead you to become aware of your past lives. We can think of this a first stage ascension.
The second phase, is to integrate your highest self into your concept of self. It is here where you will transcend duality, and where your thinking really starts to change. I like to call our highest-self, our God-Self, as this is the highest version of you in this reality.
I believe there to be a third stage, where you become your true God-self, but I’m not there yet, so know little about this so far.
